We Understand That Your Vision is Important to You!

For over 40 years, Summerland Optometry has been welcoming patients into our locally owned clinic. Our optometrists, Dr. Kimberley Goods and Dr. Amber Jeannotte as well as our exceptional staff, take the time to connect with you on a personal level to ensure we are delivering the best service possible.

Our Mission Statement

“We strive to provide the highest quality of eyecare that exceeds our patient’s expectations in a friendly and compassionate atmosphere. We aim to continually evolve and innovate as new technology and research come out to stay current with our recommendations and educate our patients on the best products and services our profession has to offer.”

To make these values a reality, in addition to providing excellent primary care, we’ve expanded our services to offer an in-office Vision Therapy Program and a Speciality Dry Eye Treatment Clinic, which includes intense pulse light (IPL) and radiofrequency (RF) treatments.

Come see us at our spacious clinic downtown Summerland! Our wheelchair accessible clinic is designed to deliver excellent service to our South Okanagan community, from Peachland, Penticton through to Oliver, Osoyoos, Keremeos and Princeton.

What Makes Us Different ?

From the moment you walk into our clinic, you will feel the difference. By being a smaller, independently run clinic, Summerland Optometry allows our doctors to work very closely with our staff, resulting in a unified delivery of services to our patients.

Dr. Grant Goods founded the practice in 1980 and retired in 2023 after 43 years of practice. Dr. Amber Jeannotte along with his daughter, Dr. Kimberley Goods, are very honoured to continue to run the practice providing high level optometric care.

Dr. Grant Goods dedicated his whole career evolving the practice into what it is today from the building design to the loyal patient base. Our goal is to continue to provide excellent care as a locally owned private practice.

Insurance Plans

For those of you that have optical insurance: this is a friendly reminder to contact your insurance provider(s) before your scheduled appointment(s) to ensure you have expected coverage for your planned exam and eyewear.

Optical insurance plans generally run on a typical calendar year and frequency limitations vary with policy. Recalls are not generated based on policy coverage, but rather doctor recommendation and medical necessity.

We ask that patients are aware of their plans and coverage limitations as we are unable to monitor usage on patient’s behalf. The majority of optical insurance providers will send their communications to their plan members and not the optometry office. Please call our office if you have any questions about the date of your last billed exam.

Thank you in advance for your attention to these details.

Latest Review

"I was really pleased at the professional and yet friendly attitude of the whole experience. It had been 15 yrs since I had visited an optometrist and was thrilled at how I was treated. To be told I didn't need glasses was a shock, I expected the push to buy glasses. I was informed of my particular problems and felt safe when I was told "we will monitor and keep track of what is happening" Every staff member I met in 2 appointments were friendly, professional and pleasant. Cudos, you have a patient for life. “
